As an adolescent, Dr Ash Estafan enjoyed woodworking and maintaining/improving his car. Building things and repairing things became his favorite hobby. In school, it was always the sciences that held his interest. He knew healthcare would be where he would end up. His mother, Dr Denise Estafan had a private practice in which Dr Ash would periodically assist. It didn’t take long for him to see that he could combine his interests in dentistry. Dr Ash Estafan graduated NYU College of Dentistry in 2000. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the VA hospital in Manhattan in 2001 after which he began private practice and started a faculty position at NYU. In an effort to better educate himself in cosmetic dentistry, crowns/bridges and implant dentistry, he completed a 3-year residency in Prosthodontics at NYU College of Dentistry in 2004.
As an accomplished researcher and educator, Dr Estafan has lectured at local, national and international meetings. Although he continues to give periodic lectures at NYU, he prefers private practice dentistry. In 2009 he achieved board certification in Prosthodontics placing him among the elite in the specialty of Prosthodontics. Dr Estafan practices here in midtown with his talented wife, Dr Stella Oh and also in Port Washington on Long Island. He lives to spend time with his family and also enjoys backpacking, outdoor photography, comedy, cycling, technology and music.
Dr Estafan is very active in the community of New York Prosthodontics. He is a fellow the American College of Prosthodontists (and a former president of the ACP New York Section), a fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, fellow of the Northeastern Gnathological Society. He is also member of the American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association.
