Dentures are a removable dental appliance used as a replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Loss of teeth can be considered as a handicap as it leads to restrictions of daily activities like chewing and speech. That is why tooth replacement is important.

At Madison Dentists Avenue we provide our patients with three types of dentures-

  • Complete Denture
  • Partial Denture and;
  • Implant-supported Denture

Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing. These dentures cover the entire jaw (upper or lower as the case may be). The dentist commences with the procedure of fabrication only after the gums and underlying bone heal completely. A series of multiple visits is required to ensure correct fit of the denture.

Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Metal plates or resin plate serve as a base most of the times to which the artificial teeth are attached. Additional elements like clasps may be there for tight fit.

Implant-supported dentures are the latest type of dentures that we offer to our patients. First, four to six dental implants are surgically placed within the jawbone. Once these implants get integrated with the bone they are ready to bear the load of the dentures and the chewing forces associated with it. An impression is recorded and the denture is fabricated with a small metal part (on the inner surface) that helps it achieve a snug fit while being placed over the implants.

Implant-supported offer the comfort and esthetics of natural teeth and are extremely easy to clean and maintain. All you have to do is follow the instructions given by Dr Oh and Dr. Estafan, who have the expertise in dealing with dental implants or implant-supported dentures.
